Journal #9

Write a short synopsis of a first player educational video game.

The game should teach multiplication and division to young kids (ages 7-11)

Give a short description that you could pitch to a development company within the time it takes to ride three floors up an elevator.

Star Wars: Luke's Adventures

You play as Luke Skywalker on planets Tatooine, Degobah, Cloud City, and The Death Star. the object is to destroy droids and aliens by solving multiplication and division problems. You start out easy and at the end you fight Darth Vader in a math battle.

How was your spring break?
Write about it in your journal today.

My spring break was pretty cool. I got a new laptop, even though it has Windows Vista, it still is a pretty good computer. I also bought Spore for the computer which I think is a very fun and worthy game. I wasted most of my break playing that game.

Journal #7

If you were given $2,000,000 that had to be spent in one day on things that would disappear after that day, what would you spend it on?

e.g.: investments would disappear after the day.
e.g.: A house would revert to the banks ownership.
e.g.: Services would cease at the end of the day
e.g.: A trip would have to end at the end of the day.

I would buy lots and lots of games and systems just to play throughout the day. I would also buy a lot of food and drinks to tie me over. The rest would be given to charity.

Eskimos are excellent hunters who have a great reverence for the world and animals around them, traditionally they have not hunted penguins.

Why do you think this is? What cultural, religious or other factors do you think would influence their decision?

I don' think they hunt penguins because maybe they believe that the penguins are a sacred animal. Therefore they might think that hunting penguins is against their religion.

It is a scientific fact that although the peacock is a bird and resembles other birds in many respects, it neither gives birth to live offspring as a mammal does, nor does it lay eggs as other birds do.

If the above statement is true, how are baby peacocks born? Where do they come from? How do they arrive in our world?

peacocks are born from peahens. they come from peahens. They are laid in eggs from peahens.

A man left home in a hurry and ran a ways, then he turned left and ran the same distance, finally he turned left again, and then ran home.
When he got home there were two masked men waiting for him.

Who were they?

Today is the first day of CMT 135 Introduction to 3D Animation.
As we begin write about your hopes and expectations of this class.
Do you expect to turn your skills into a career or is this simply a hobby for you?
Where do you see yourself in five years regarding your career goals. Would you like to work for PIXAR, ILM, VALVE or some small independent design shop?

I hope to learn about 3D modeling and animation so i can turn those skills into a career. i would like to work for a company like pixar, but my passion would be for gaming like Bungie or Harmonix. hopefully in five years, i'll be working as an intern at the least at a game company.

Journal #101

Today is the final day of class.
Reflect on the past 45 days of class.
What did you enjoy? What did you dislike?
What would like to have learned?
What can you take away from this class?

In this class I enjoyed learning about illustrator and the spray tool, plus i loved doing all of the projects we had. The only thing I disliked about this section was the structure test. I'm pretty comfortable with what I learned this 9 weeks. What I can take away from this class is all of the cool and useful stuff I learned.

Journal #100

I make you weak at the worst of all times.
I keep you safe, I keep you fine.
I make your hands sweat and your heart grow cold.
I visit the weak, but seldom the bold.
I afflict men and women, both young and old.
I will command your attention, but seldom deserve it.

What am I?

Parallel we always go.
When things get hard we rarely show.
A history of time gone by
though time will fade us by and by.
The more that you take of me
the more of me you have leave.

What am I?

Be you ever so quick, with vision so keen,
by your eyes, we are never seen,
unless perchance it should come to pass,
you see our reflection in the looking glass.

Who are we?

Journal #97

On a recent TV show, a woman admitted that she had cheated on her husband and would leave him if her ex boyfriend would have her, she had lied on her resume and she was once arrested for stealing from her employer, and yet she still considered herself a good person?

What is your definition of "GOOD"? In a paragraph or two, explain what constitutes a bad person is, does or does not do.

My definition of a good person is that they do the right things. A good person is one that opens doors for ladies, helps the elderly cross the street, and is polite to others. Someone who is respectable, doesn't do drugs, doesn't drink, is a nice person, and knows right from wrong. These qualities to me describe a "GOOD" person.
