Journal #86

Abraham Lincoln is credited with the saying that it is better to remain silent and have everyone think that you are an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
What did he mean by this statement?
Do you agree or disagree and why?

I think that he meant that it is better to stand there and have everyone think what they want to think than open your mouth and probably make it worse. I believe if you know that its right, than that is your own assumption, best not make it worse by opening your mouth. Plus its respectful to just take it than say something back.
